Created and directed by Paolo Sorcinelli, the research “Storia della periferia. Un paese dalla mezzadria alla globalizzazione” is born in the Rimini Branch of the University of Bologna and has been financed by Rimini branch-University of Bologna, History Departement and Unirimini.
The interviews have been made by Daniela Calanca, Luca Gorgolini, Giulia Nataloni, Gianluigi Di Giangirolamo, with the collaboration of Mara Boccarossa, Lorenzo Ricci, Piergiorgio Rossi, Paolo Alfieri, Francesco Fragomeno.
The informatic reworking of this materials research is forming part of the “I giardini della memoria”-Docup ob.2 – “Sistema Museo diffuso” project, promoted by Assessorato alla cultura e alle politiche giovanili of Marche region.
The research is on the “collective memory” of a central italy village, that had a population between 3200-4000 residents during the Twentieth Century.
Between October 2005 and December 2006 the 3% of the population of the village with a representation of adulthood, decided “to tell” in front of digital video camera.
Fourty-eight women and sixty-eight men told about their selves, their lifes, joys, pains, jobs and emotions. The final result is about eleven thousands minutes near to one hundred and eighty hours of video and audio recordings, this means that it needs more then seven to listen at this extraordinary “voices archive” .
In their “life stories” the interviewed have given priority to episodes that only apparently can seem to be “private” but they finally build togheter like a big puzzle the history of national vicissitudes.
